We are seeking a results oriented candidate with a strong technical web development background to drive and support our operations and next generation implementations of GE wide applications including benefits.ge.com. The Program Manager – Business Solutions will work with Global cross functional and technical teams to formulate as well as implement strategic initiatives.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exposure to and knowledge of Web technologies and be fully versed in application design and development.
Serve as a technical thought leader for the GGO Employee Services IT team, helping to translate complex initiatives into practical self-service products and services that positively impact employees and operations
Lead all project phases, including scoping, requirements definition, make vs. buy decisions, development, testing and implementation
Manage software developers and GE resources (as required) to deliver secure applications that perform well and are reliable
Perform hands on analysis and design, testing, debugging and triage activities in support of key development projects and production operations
Work with the business and technical teams to translate business concepts and requirements into technical and specification documents
Redefine the strategy and implement a disaster recovery procedure for key enterprise applications
Lead technical refresh projects (e.g. DBMS, webserver or application server upgrades)
Partner with enterprise architects and developers to deliver sustainable technical solutions that adhere to enterprise standards
Define and implement a Content Management System strategy with the goal of facilitating self-service content management of our web based applications including benefits.ge.com
Stay current on the latest technology trends including web services, mobile app development, coding standards and development frameworks driving the delivery world class applications
Work closely with the CIS Corporate COE teams to gain expertise and best practices translating these back into the teams culture and processes
Work with both internal and external User Experience (UI/UX) experts to continuously improve user interfaces with the goal of increased usage and customer service excellence on critical employee facing applications
Drive simplified designs incorporating the principals of reuse and maintainability for our enterprise solutions
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or other related discipline (or minimum 4 years od related experience in lieu of degree)
Minimum 10 years of professional technology experience
Minimum 5 years of experience executing on high profile projects
Minimum 5 years of technical leadership experience
Minimum 2 years of working knowledge of open source frameworks (e.g. STRUTS)

Experience implementing/ supporting content management systems
Data modeling experience
Experience architecting/ building large volume web applications
Experience with the mobile development arena
