The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, structuring, and executing new business opportunities for GE I
Works, GE’s licensing business. The Manager will work with our trademark, technology and patent licensing teams to develop new partnerships and business models and to make strategic investments. In this role, you will work closely with GE’s businesses, GE Global Research and GE Ventures to generate strategic and financial benefits to GE.
Implement GE Licensing’s growth strategy by sourcing, structuring, and closing new strategic business opportunities, initiatives and transactions
Manage the transaction execution process by leading business due diligence, negotiations, financial underwriting, deal approval, and deal documentation
Work closely with the trademark licensing, technology transfer and patent licensing teams within GE Licensing to find, screen, develop and implement new initiatives
Represent GE Licensing in working with key GE stakeholders at GE’s operating businesses, GE Global Research, GE Ventures, GE corporate functions and external partners
Build external sourcing networks to build a deep pipeline of new opportunities
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic investing and corporate development
Minimum 3 years of experience in sourcing, underwriting, negotiating and completing complex investment, partnership and JV transactions

In-depth understanding of diverse financing structures, including proficiency with tax, legal and accounting aspects, and ability to perform financial analysis and make decisions from financial data
Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills - communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions, anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve; creates actionable strategies and operational plans
Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of a global organization and to thrive in a matrixed environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex business issues
Highly motivated self-starter who can translate strategy into action to deliver meaningful results
MBA or advanced degree from leading university
Passion and energy to drive change
Strong interpersonal, teamwork, networking and project management skills
Excellent strategic thinker who can translate business challenges into strategies and action
Experience in the field of intellectual property, including trademark licensing, technology transfer, patent licensing
