Special Operations at Quidsi is a team that is lined up against each of the business units (Retail, Marketing, Customer Care, External stakeholder, etc), and is responsible for working with business leadership to identify and design strategic initiatives, develop measurements of performance, design and redesign day-to-day operational processes/tools, and analyze data and create reports to support the business; our ultimate objective is to create the most efficient and effective organization possible.

As a Director on this team, you will be responsible for managing the relationship with a set of business leaders and developing and driving a mutually agreed upon agenda. There is currently one analyst that reports to this position, and there could potentially be an additional direct report.

What the job is all about:
· Special operations is a little like consulting, in that we work on multiple, interesting, high-impact projects, but here, we own the projects and the out comes
· You will need to maintain a high level and strategic perspective while thrashing your way through the weeds (In a good way, I promise!)
· We actively work with teams across the company, including Operations, Customer Care, IT, Retail, Finance and Amazon teams, in order to understand identify and solve the most pressing issues we face – we are still essentially a start-up, which means an endless supply of great operational opportunities
· The scope of responsibilities and activities include project management, data analysis and modeling, problem solving, and rolling up your sleeves to figure out how to do things better
· We work closely with IT development teams to properly spec projects and ensure efficient development of initiatives
· We need to become trusted partners with the business units; we are looking for someone who can help to transform an organization – challenging, but very rewarding

Basic Qualifications

Experience and Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree required, MBA is preferred
· 7+ years of total experience, preferably in a highly analytical role, with significant project management experience
· Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously is a strong plus
· Strong analytical ability coupled with good creative and visualization skills for developing tools and processes
· Excellent communication skills are required; you will need to be a change agent for our team
· Strong computer skills and good general knowledge of IT systems (knowledge of Microsoft Access, Oracle or SQL Server is a huge plus)

This position is conveniently located in Jersey City, NJ, a four minute ride from the World Trade Center and just outside the Exchange Place PATH Station. Bordering the Hudson River, our offices have spectacular panoramic views of Manhattan and New Jersey.
