Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the University of Hawaii, Hawaii Community College (HawCC), for the Rural Hawaii 1 (RH1) Project, located in Hilo. Hawaii. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.

SALARY: Salary commensurate with qualifications.

DUTIES: Provides IT support in the development of systems to track, manage, and report data on project objectives. Utilizes various programming languages to develop technological solutions to increase efficiency and reduce redundancy. Designs and implements the graphical user interface to allow secure access to data entry via the Internet and coordinates online data submissions to tie into program databases. Assists in troubleshooting and training on data systems. Manages and maintains information for the student services positions on the HawCC website. Manages the acquisition and implementation of the Starfish student tracking system ensuring its compatibility with the Banner Student Information system and the STAR portal.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. EXPERIENCE: Two to four (2-4) years of experience in database development and management. Two to four (2-4) years of experience in systems analysis or business process development and programming that utilized a variety of different programming languages. ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS: Functional knowledge of the design and programming of computer applications demonstrated by knowledge, understanding, and ability to apply principles, concepts, methodology and terminology. Functional knowledge and understanding of technology, systems, hardware and software associated with application development, data management, and reporting. Must be able to analyze, interpret, and use sound logic and judgment. Must have problem solving and critical analysis skills. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, to write reports and procedures, and to communicate effectively in a variety of situations. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience in developing secure websites.
