Programming is all about the code...unless you work at Amazon. Come take on the responsibility for building the metrics, tools, and reports needed to support Amazon's Finance Operations. We strive help others understand finance by employing every facet of data and communication to ensure we have the most up to date and reliable information in order to make the best possible decision. How can you make this happen?
  • You'll use your proven technical skills in SQL and scripting (VBA, Perl, Ruby, etc.) to design, implement and support access to large datasets
  • You'll own the development of scripts to process data and define the most optimal choices available
  • You'll move with purpose and speed, and this requires collaboration with a dynamic network of Ops, HR, Tech and Finance partners
  • You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll love what you do & want to make an impact

Basic Qualifications
  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree
  • 3+ years of programming, development or other directly relevant experience
  • Expertise with SQL and relational database systems
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
  • Basic knowledge of Perl, Unix/Linux, Visual Basic, or other programming language
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel is required, including use of lookups and pivot tables

Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent with MySQL and MySQL server administration
  • Proficiency with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
  • Expertise with at least one object oriented scripting language
  • Proven ability at looking at solutions in unconventional ways; sees opportunities to innovate and can lead the way
  • Top notch communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to convey key insights from complex analysis in summarized business terms and an ability to effectively communicate with technical teams
  • Ability to work with shifting deadlines in a fast paced environment
