The programmer analyst’s role is to define, develop, test, and maintain applications, databases, extracts, reports, and information delivery in-support of the achievement of business requirements. The programmer analyst will be responsible for providing assistance, support, and expertise to members of the Tech Support Team. The programmer analyst also provides end-user and vendor/partner support of PC applications, data extracts/exchanges, and file transfers. The programmer analyst is responsible for using project management methodologies and System Life Cycle disciplines to ensure successful implementation of projects in support of corporate strategic initiatives. He/She is to act as the technical liaison between the various internal business units, trading partners, vendors, privacy/security, and other departments and management as necessary.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent in experience and/or education required.
Minimum of four years experience supporting business applications preferred.
Proficient with relational databases and SQL programming language/query/reporting/scripting.
Proficient with MS Office Professional especially MS Access and Visual Basic.
Proficient with File Transfer Protocols, scripting and encryption.
Working knowledge of Unix/AIX and MS Windows 7, Windows Server, MS Exchange/Outlook.
Proficient with Network LAN/WAN configuration, TCP/IP and Active Directory/LDAP.
Solid organizational and project management skills.
Solid understanding of System Life Cycle methodology.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to gather, comprehend, and document business requirements.
Working knowledge with desktop tools.
Knowledge of health care business preferred.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and assume accountability.
Understands the importance of maintaining the physical and technical security and privacy of protected health information (PHI).
