Intermountain Healthcare is seeking a Programmer/Analyst with the HELP1 Development Team. This person will be responsible for the maintenance, design and development of HELP1 Clinical applications. Responsibilities will also include working with clinical end-users and analysts to develop requirements for current and new applications. Responsibilities will also include working the HELP1 Support Team to identify and trouble-shoot support issues.
The consultant role is a top level contributor and expert, both in programming and analysis skills as well as in business domain knowledge. Responsible for implementing and/or integrating new products, processes, methodologies, frameworks, and technologies. Serves as a technical consultant/specialist both inside Intermountain Healthcare and to outside organizations. Provides guidance, input, and instruction to all lower level technical professionals. Primary assignment involves Intermountain’s most complex and critical systems and applications.
Collaborates with developers, business operations staff and analysts in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications.
Defines, develops, and documents software business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis.
Defines software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.
Leads in conducting research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Liaises with vendors for efficient implementation of new software products or systems and for resolution of any adaptation issues.
Recommends, schedules, and performs software enhancements and system upgrades.
Liaises with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
Maintains an expert-level understanding of industry application development best practices, tools, programming languages and techniques. Keeps current with new developments in the information technology industry and may lead development and implementation of organizational and departmental standards and methodologies.
Coordinates with the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.
Coordinates interface with user management regarding project status, direction and user needs to promote an environment of user cooperation and satisfaction.
Develops and maintains technical support documentation.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of programming concepts, practices, and procedures. May provide consultation on a variety of complex projects and is considered to be a top-level contributor/specialist. Entrusted to exercise a wide degree of creativity and latitude in finding solutions to complex problems.
Provides guidance and training to all levels of programmer analysts in order to improve productivity. Coordinates work teams. Provides technical support to project team members.

Bachelor’s degree in a computer science, programming, or other technical field -OR- four or more years of technical experience. Intermountain Healthcare verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.
Eight or more years of professional software development experience
Experience as a technical lead on enterprise-level systems
Experience with HELP1
