Position Purpose:
Responsible for the overall design and development of the LG&E and KU enterprise service oriented architecture (SOA). This position will help develop Best Practices for development and deployment of web services using Oracle SOA Suite 11g across the enterprise. This position will serve as an architectural leader in mentoring IT developers from all lines of business. This architect will be hands on and must also be able to assist in developing enterprise services.

Major Accountabilities:
Hands-on experience implementing Web Services (SOAP and RESTful) using Oracle SOA Suite 11g

Experience building, configuring and deploying services on containers such as Weblogic and Tomcat

Experience using Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) for service composite development

Experience with Web Service Security specifications, WS-Security, WS-Policy, SAML, etc.

Broad exposure to enterprise service bus products and SOA Governance tools is required

Deep knowledge and understanding of Mediation, Policy Enforcement and other ESB functions

Deep knowledge of SOA principles, design patterns, application and integration architectures

Experience with industry standard or internal canonical models
Experience with LINUX and an IDE such as Eclipse and JDeveloper

Practical application debugging and troubleshooting skills and monitoring of Oracle Enterprise Manager

Exposure to reporting using Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) is desired

Experience with Ant scripting is desired

Integration experience with any Enterprise Service Bus (such as TIBCO, IBM, Oracle)

Integration experience with Messaging, UDDI, Service Registry and Service Repository

Experience with SoapUI or similar web service testing tool

Assists other developers in architecture and problem solving

Creates detailed technical documentation for existing and newly developed solutions

Performs code reviews and design sessions with team members

Recommended Education/Experience:
Technical or business bachelor degree required, advanced degree preferred. Minimum ten years experience in a dynamic business and IT environment. Strong experience with Oracle SOA Suite and Weblogic server is required. At least 3 years of experience with Oracle SOA Suite is desired.

Special Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are mandatory. Demonstrated ability to work with senior management in the development of guiding IT strategy. Good team player with the ability to build strong business relationships and achieve consensus. Candidate must be a United States citizen.
