As a Programmer/Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of the R&D team responsible for the design of our application software, as well as ongoing application maintenance, enhancements, and issue resolution. You will work both independently, as well as in close collaboration with other members of the R&D, support and QA teams.

As a new team member, you are provided extensive training on Apprise Software's application, associated programming languages, and the database technologies that we utilize. You will learn about our customers' business requirements, our technology, and many other aspects of our business. In addition, you will be partnered with a senior team member for about six months, who serves as your mentor and assists you in broadening your programming skills and learning about the distribution industry that Apprise Software serves. During this time, you will work on simpler R&D issues and product enhancements. As your knowledge of our customers, software, and the industry grows, you will gain increasing responsibilities on more complex projects, with the potential for advancement and new challenges that is limited only by your own abilities and drive. At Apprise Software, project leadership is determined by the ability of the individual, not the duration of time that they have worked with us. It is not uncommon for a member of one project team to be the project leader on another project.

Apprise Software R&D team members often become involved in exciting new technology projects, such as working with Microsoft® .NET framework programming; Web Services and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) programming; Web development; PDA, handheld device, and other mobile computing interfaces; and many other projects that offer growth and learning opportunities while contributing to the success of the company. As a leading software developer and Microsoft® Gold Certified Partner, Apprise Software often works closely with Microsoft's cutting edge development tools - keeping us (and you!) at the forefront of business software.

Job Requirements A Bachelors of Science degree in computer science or a related discipline is required. Prior database programming is a definite plus. Experience working in C#, VB, VB.NET, and/or Progress would be helpful but is not required. You must be self-motivated and a team player, and take exceptional pride in the quality of your work.
