The New School for Public Engagement Dean’s Office is seeking a student (undergraduate or graduate) to help with writing, editing, and management of the divisional blog. The blog is intended to be a space for news, stories and inquiry. The target audience is students, prospective students, alumni, faculty and the larger university community. The position includes taking assignments to cover particular stories, as well as brainstorming and pitching story ideas. The position also entails proofreading and fact-checking all stories prior to post, monitoring comments, helping to create quarterly e-blasts to drive readership, and monitoring analytics of the site.
The position requires some basic WordPress maintenance so familiarity with WordPress is a plus, though not essential.
Experience with writing, preferably in a journalistic and professional setting, is ideal.
