APCO’s Government Relations team is seeking a Project Assistant with a focus on working with technology clients. APCO’s Government Relations team works with clients to predict, understand and formulate strategic responses to policy, regulatory and reputational challenges. Our team includes consultants with experience in elected offices and as appointed officials on both sides of the aisle.
Play a key role in the coordination of account activity and perform a variety of tasks including research and analysis, media monitoring and preparing summary reports to support client engagements
Responsible for day-to-day client work under the daily supervision of a more senior team member
Support a portfolio of clients by monitoring and analyzing legislative activity
Conduct thorough research that reflects an understanding of the clients; summarize wide variety of policy issues with a focus on technology
Draft memos and speaking points for clients
Maintain strong understanding of issues affecting clients and conduct media monitoring surrounding those issues
Coordinate meetings and Capitol Hill events
1-3 years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
Previous Capitol Hill experience preferred
Keen understanding of technology policy issues
Must have strong knowledge of and an in-depth understanding of the federal legislative and regulatory process and congressional committee structure
Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Excellent written and oral skills
