Position Summary: The Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise (KIPE) has embarked upon a search for the position of Project Coordinator for the newly conceived Concierge Entrepreneurship program. The Kenan Institute is the outreach arm of UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School. Founded in 1985 by visionary entrepreneur and philanthropist Frank Hawkins Kenan, the Institute is a research and strategic planning organization that focuses on three themes: entrepreneurship, multi-university research translation and economic development. The Institute's mission is to be a partner for innovative entrepreneurship with a vision of elevating the state of North Carolina to be a global leader in innovation and entrepreneurship. This position, which reports to the Executive Director of the Kenan Institute, will provide an array of research and strategic planning support within Kenan Institute's Concierge Entrepreneurship Program. Specific duties include: support of research activities, operations oversight and outreach.

Education Requirements: Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required; for candidates demonstrating comparable background in academic or research computing management, will accept a relevant undergraduate degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. Master's degree in information library sciences, business or a related field is preferred.

Qualification and Experience: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent organizational skills are required. Intermediate or advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required. At least 2 years of experience overseeing business or research projects is required. The ideal candidate will have the following professional qualifications and personal qualities: A style that is strategic, results-oriented, and pragmatic, yet self-aware, self-disciplined, and empathetic; The ability to work effectively in an academic environment in which collaborative, inclusive decision-making is expected, Experience with one or more of the following is desired: project management, entrepreneurship and innovation, patents, market analysis and or enterprise creation. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Mindjet MindManager and Thomson Innovation patent analysis software.
