SPECIFIC & ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Develop, document, and implement successful new products and improvements. Lead multiple simultaneous projects across multiple locations from concept to implementation. Provide technical guidance and ensure sound engineering practices in technical areas such as hydraulics, electrical systems, structural strength, and stability requirements. Perform routine engineering work (~ 20% of the time.) Facilitate troubleshooting of technical issues and drive prompt resolution. Provide ECN implementation support as needed to maintain the product design integrity and ensure quality, safety and consistent production. Understand applicable domestic and international standards to assure that designs comply and certifications are maintained. Organize engineering project teams to accomplish goals effectively and recommend recruitment or assignment of engineering personnel as required. Monitor the progress of all engineering projects to see that they are progressing according to schedule and within budgetary guidelines. Grow the capability of the engineering organization through mentoring and training to develop the skills of the engineering team and individual team members.
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school. 8-12 years of progressive, professional experience in related field which includes manufacturing. 3 or more years’ experience in a project engineer role SKILLS:
Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems thorough application of knowledge, experience and engineering fundamentals. Strong engineering fundamentals Proficient using Solid Modeling tools such as SolidWorks or equivalent Capable of thinking creatively to provide different design perspectives to drive innovative solutions. Able to make decisions independently to resolve complex issues and accomplish objectives from a remote site. Solid understanding of FEA, FMEA, material supply chain, hydraulics and electrical engineering concepts. General knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Terex Operating System
Must be able to interact positively with both internal and with external groups, including management and customers, on matters that involve negotiating, influencing decisions and obtaining approvals. Must be an agent of change and have a professional demeanor. Ability to direct other engineering team members is required.
Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally, frequent lifting of 1-2 pounds
Must be able to travel.
