Job Description:

WorleyParsons US Operations provide Engineering,
Procurement and Construction Management services across
our 24 US offices with outstanding health, safety and
environmental performance. To deliver these services,
WorleyParsons functions as the sole supplier, member of
a joint venture, a subcontractor, or a local contractor.
We also operate within formalized alliances,
partnerships, and consortiums. Our US Operations include
global centers of engineering expertise in refining,
sulphur technology, arctic developments, topsides,
subsea systems, deepwater facilities, nuclear power, and
renewable energy. These hubs support domestic customers
as well as the execution of mega-projects for
international customers in Brazil, China, Russia, West
Africa and Saudi Arabia, among others.
WorleyParsons is seeking a Project Engineer to support
Engineering and the Business Management group for an
Offshore Mega project within the Houston office. The
position responsibilities would include the following;
  • Develops the scope of engineering work, schedules,
and budgets for the assigned project elements,
monitoring progress to maintain those schedules and
budgets. Identifies and documents changes in scope.
Coordinates the utilization of interdisciplinary
technical personnel on the Project with other
Project Engineers.
  • Coordinates the assignment of personnel from other
technical support groups within the Company. May
assist the assigned Project Manager in planning,
directing, supervising, and controlling the
execution of the technical, fiscal, and
administrative functions of the project or study.
  • Helps determine the technical skills and staff
hours required. Ensures customer criteria and scope
are met by all engineering disciplines. Expedites
distribution of action items following
discussions/meetings with the customer. Understands
the customer's business goals in order to enhance
the project work.
  • Prepares technical reports, project manuals, and
documentation of activity for the customer and
management. Obtains, analyzes, and circulates
technical and contractual information to project
disciplines. Reviews and approves change orders.
Notifies affected personnel of all changes.
Interfaces with procurement in coordination with
vendors/subcontractors.
  • Assists in bid analysis, vendor availability and
capability.

Job Requirements:
  • BS or MS in related field or applicable discipline,
typically an engineering degree; or equivalent
experience if allowed by law. Thorough knowledge of
applicable theories, practices, and accepted
procedures. Generally 3-5 years of experience in
field with BS, or 1-3 years of experience in field
with MS; EIT or relevant professional registration
preferred.
  • Recognized expertise within area of focus. Uses
best practices to solve functional issues and
improve programs and/or processes in support of
organizational business challenges. Participates in
plan implementation. Independently works through
individual projects and/or plays key role in broader
projects. Relies on systemic thinking and
understanding of broader organizational implications
of the work being performed to solve problems.
  • Computer proficiency required. Proficient with
engineering software applications. Strong analytical
and problem solving skills. Accuracy and attention
to detail important. Ability to meet deadlines and
manage priorities somewhat important. Strong written
and verbal communication skills in English are
critical. Usually able to explain why things are
done they way they are within a broader
organizational context.
  • Commitment to customer service and ability to work
in a team-oriented environment. Ability to maintain
confidential information is critical.
  • Generally characterized as a "Independent
Contributor" with ability to discover issues and
recommend solutions to business problems uncovered
during course of performing assignments. Able to
work independently on the more varied and complex
tasks and/or functional leadership without direct
supervision as needed. Provides expertise and
guidance to less experienced individuals.
  • Typically will regularly interface with
departmental staff and lower, middle and upper
management, and frequently with outside customers.
