Job Description Overall Results Expected Assist the Project Manager in ensuring that all paperwork on the project is received, recorded and processed in accordance with project and company policies. Assist the project team in staying on-schedule by expediting responses, project information, materials and the overall progress of the work.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Review all drawings for potential construction deficiencies, impractical details completeness of scoping
  • Assist the Project Manager in obtaining building permits when necessary, and interface with contractors to ensure that all contractors have appropriate and current permits in place
  • Coordinate with administrative staff to ensure that all data is accurately entered into TSM on a timely basis and updated as appropriate
  • Review submittals as they arrive at the project site, verify against specification documents and resolve minor associated issues. When departure from specification is complex or major, coordinate with PM on appropriate action
  • Participate in regular Owner / Project Manager/Architect meetings and be prepared to offer status updates on safety, submittals, RFIs and change issues. Take accurate minutes of the meetings and distribute on a timely basis after each meeting
  • Assume primary responsibility for expediting project materials, taking care to identify on a timely basis all long lead items and ensure that all materials are on site when needed. Regularly update the Project Manager on status
  • Assist the Project Manager in effectively handling change management. Independently respond to RFIs when possible and/or prepare documents for design team or Project Manager response
  • Spot check materials as they arrive on site, ensuring that all materials meet specifications
  • Working independently or under the guidance of the Project Manager, create the documentation for the monthly report and compile the original report, to be passed onto administrative staff for photocopying and distribution
  • Provide back-up support for the Project Superintendent and the Project Manager in the event that he/she is off-site
  • Ensure that all construction documents are consistently updated, posted with the most current information and all changes
  • Coordinate with other team members to facilitate successful project closeout; ensure that a complete and accurate package of close out documents is compiled and presented to the Owner
  • Additional responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time in support of our companys effort to achieve client loyalty

Qualifications Experience & Education Guidelines
  • Four-year degree in Engineering (Civil preferred) or Construction Management.
  • Minimum two years hands-on experience in the commercial construction field with practical experience in handling large, complex commercial projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A demonstrated commitment to exceeding client expectations in the delivery of safe, quality, cost-efficient and timely service
  • A strong detail orientation and a commitment to producing work that is accurate the first time
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks demanding of immediate attention, and to juggle multiple, on-going, concurrent responsibilities
  • Uncompromiseable commitment to integrity and ethical behavior
  • Excellent verbal communication skills both one-on-one and in speaking before a group; ability to use tact and diplomacy to achieve desired results in working through people strong written communication skills are also required with the ability to independently produce clear reports and documentation
  • Ability to build excellent relations within our community, building a reputation for competence, quality, trustworthiness, and ability to get the job done right
  • Competency in the following computer programs: MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
