WorleyParsons is performing brownfield engineering / procurement services for BP and this position will be working on the Nakika Asset in the Gulf of Mexico. The project is performing a POB improvement project. The successful individual in this Project Engineering role:
Develops the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for the assigned project elements, monitoring progress to maintain those schedules and budgets
Identifies and documents changes in scope
Coordinates the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the Project with other Project Engineers
Coordinates the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the Company
May assist the assigned Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of the technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project or study
Helps determine the technical skills and staff hours required. Ensures customer criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplines
Expedites distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the customer
Understands the customer's business goals in order to enhance the project work
Prepares technical reports, project manuals, and documentation of activity for the customer and management
Obtains, analyzes, and circulates technical and contractual information to project disciplines.
Reviews and approves change orders.
Notifies affected personnel of all changes; interfaces with procurement in coordination with vendors/subcontractors.
Assists in bid analysis, vendor availability and capability
WorleyParsons US Operations provide Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management services across our 24 US offices with outstanding health, safety and environmental performance. To deliver these services, WorleyParsons functions as the sole supplier, member of a joint venture, a subcontractor, or a local contractor. We also operate within formalized alliances, partnerships, and consortiums. Our US Operations include global centers of engineering expertise in refining, sulphur technology, arctic developments, topsides, subsea systems, deepwater facilities, nuclear power, and renewable energy. These hubs support domestic customers as well as the execution of mega-projects for international customers in Brazil, China, Russia, West Africa and Saudi Arabia, among others.
BS or MS in related field or applicable discipline, typically an engineering degree; or equivalent experience if allowed by law. Thorough knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted procedures. Generally 4-7 years of experience in field with BS, or 3-5 years of experience in field with MS; relevant professional registration is preferred.
Experience executing brownfield offshore oil and gas projects through construction, commissioning and startup is required.
Recognized as having a specialized depth or breadth of expertise within the department. Interprets internal and external business challenges with impact on the organization and recommends best practice solutions. Contributes to implementation plan development and program coordination. Proficient with engineering software applications.
Computer proficiency required. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Accuracy and attention to detail important. Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities somewhat important. Ability to contribute to preparation and delivery of presentations to customers is preferred; Awareness of project estimates and budgets. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential to effectively teach what they know to other employees. Ability to transfer subject matter expertise and understanding to other employees and/or internal customers is required regarding why work is performed the way it is and how it impacts the broader organization.
Commitment to customer service and ability to lead functional project teams is important. Ability to maintain confidential information is critical.
Generally characterized as a "Senior Contributor" with ability to lead functional project teams within a business unit or department. Very rarely requires supervision and direction beyond providing desired outcomes.
Typically will regularly interface with departmental staff and middle and upper management, and frequently with outside customers.
