Project Financial Analyst /Financial Modeling

DSL has an excellent opportunity to support Solar company Project Financial Analyst/Financial Modeling with 1-3+ years of experience working with project finance, asset-backed finance, M&A, investment banking, real estate, or private equity to support all team activities with the initial primary responsibility being supporting the financial closings for distributed generation projects in the U.S. This requires a firm understanding of financial modeling in excel, extreme attention to detail when answering lender or investor questions that arise during due diligence, as well as excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. In addition, the Project Finance Analyst will need to work closely with different departments across company to ensure the timely delivery of closing items. Investment Banking firm experience. Company offers relocation package for qualified candidate.
Location: Beltsville, MD
Salary: 75-80K Base + 50% Bonus

Duties
- Lead financial modeling and assist with the structuring of debt and equity for U.S. distributed generation team.
- Work directly with lenders/underwriters and equity and JV partners to support solar project financing due diligence and negotiations
- Streamline the financial close out process by working with cross-functional teams
- Support the sales team on financial analysis of potential projects
- Develop a deep understanding of different transactional documents
- Learn the intricacies of U.S. federal and state solar incentives
- Understand the attributes of different solar technologies to help educate the project finance community on the solar power asset class
- Evaluate different project finance structures
- Analyze credit of potential customers
- Foresee potential problems and develop solutions
QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates will be self-starters that have exceptional analytical capabilities and strong intellectual curiosity. Must be able to learn on the fly and drink from the fire hose. Prior analytical and financial modeling experience is required. Transactional experience is a plus. - 1-3 years of work experience and prior transactional experience working within project finance, asset-backed finance, M&A, investment banking, real estate, or private equity
- Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
- Desire to work in an a rapidly growing early stage company in the renewable energy field
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, business or a related field
- Ability to collaborate across departments within the company and with external advisors to lead project finance diligence and closings
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English
- Project management and complex financial modeling experience
- Understanding of accounting and financial statements
- Ability to effectively operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment
- Solar or renewable energy industry experience a plus
