Candidate Requirements:
Responsible for providing health and safety consulting services to biotech
companies, biopharmaceutical companies, research facilities, health care
institutions, educational institutions, and diversified manufacturers. In this
role we expect that the employee will be primarily dedicated to one or two
biopharma clients in the greater Boston area. In this role, the candidate
should have strong expertise as relates to health & safety consulting,
particularly with biotech firms, universities and hospitals. The candidate should also have a background in
health & safety programs, health & safety training, and EHS compliance
management., The Staff H&S Specialist should have a strong educational
background, with an Bachelors degree in occupational health & safety, industrial hygiene or related scientific
discipline., and have suitable certifications (e.g; ASP or CHMM,)

Primary Responsibilities of the Position:
Provide H&S consulting services to Life Sciences clients
Develop health and safety training programs for lab settings, clinical areas, and/or R&D facilities
The Staff H&S Specialist may serve as outsourced EHS staff for EBI clients
Develop and implement various H&S programs including chemical hygiene, lab safety, radiation safety and biosafety.
Work with clients to develop strategies and mitigation plans to reduce workplace exposures to chemicals as wells as physical job hazards
Conduct detailed H&S audits with emphasis on achieving compliance to meet State and Federal permit, OSHA, and USEPA requirements
Develop industrial hygiene programs to address indoor air quality and implement appropriate mitigation programs
Develop workplace safety protocols and implement appropriate safety training
Assess existing H&S programs in client settings and work to reduce incidents and potential worker injuries

Professional Experience and Capabilities:

nationwide. Beneficial skill sets include, but are not limited to:

2 to 5 years experience as an industrial hygienist in the EHS field

Knowledge in the following areas:
Principles of Safety, workers compensation and related principles and practices
Life Sciences EHS practice including lab safety, chemical hygiene, radiation safety biosafety and waste management.
Pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes, licensing and regulations related to EHS
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) requirements and guidelines
Training and presentation skills, techniques, applications and practices
Clear, concise and effective communication, both orally and in writing with all levels of employees
Leadership and teamwork skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Development and Management of lab safety programs and training
Proficient Knowledge in MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Proven capability to focus on delivering excellent results and improving performance of oneself by taking initiative, driving projects and continually look for ways to improve process/bottom-line efficiencies
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adjust to changing priorities
Resourceful and inventive with a strong results orientation
Sets standards and hold others accountable for program performance
Ability to multitask with limited resources
Ability to influence without direct authority

Registration Requirements:
Registration in one or more of the following areas is desirable:

Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)

Associate Safety Professional (ASP)

Educational Requirements:
A Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Safety
Management, or other related field.

Minimum of two years of experience preferably in a life sciences R&D or
manufacturing environment. Strong communications and time management skill
