The Project Manager 2 coordinates and manages the planning, creating, and implementing process to create the clients products and services. This involves departmental and/or cross-functional teams of up to ten members focused on the delivery of new and revised products and services. These products are of medium complexity and usually consist of a large set of deliverables that use proven resources. The projects managed have a moderate scope and time frame, and may impact more than one of the clients departments. The Project Manager 2 is responsible for seeing the project from initiation to delivery. This position plans and directs the schedule, and manages the project budgets. This position normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and only general instructions on new assignments. The Project Manager 2 interfaces with department directors and managing directors.

10-20% Quality Management. Uses standard processes to ensure the project will satisfy the needs for which it was undertaken.
10-20% Human Resource Management. Uses personal skills and standard processes to make the most effective use of the project team.
30-40% Communications Management. Uses standard processes to ensure timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, storage, and ultimate disposition of project information. Provides the critical links among people, ideas, and information that are necessary for success.
5-10% Risk Management. Uses standard processes to identify, analyze, and respond to project risk.
0-20% Procurement Management. Uses standard processes to acquire goods and services from providers.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a discipline that supports the projects being managed. Must have 5 to 6 years of experience in a field that supports the projects being managed (e.g., information technology, curriculum development, audiovisual production, event coordination, etc.). 4 of the 5-6 years must be verifiable project management experience. Must have project planning, organizing, communicating, team motivating and delegating skills. Must be certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute. Must be confident in the use of project management practices and use them appropriately on projects. Must meet other department certification requirements. Must meet other client requirements.
