The Project Manager will be part of the Business Intelligence and Data Solutions COE (BI & DS COE) leading data management initiatives for Corporate and across GE. In this role, you will be responsible for leading projects partnering with business, functional and technical teams and you will be accountable for all aspects of project planning, budget and resource management. In addition, part of your role will be operations management.

Essential Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with project stakeholders
  • Lead and execute projects supporting the defined reporting and data management strategies
  • Lead the analysis, requirement development, design, documentation, implementation and maintenance of IT solutions
  • Manage activities of project team resources to support and deliver solutions
  • Accountable for project delivery including project reviews, feasibility, cost benefit analysis, prioritization, initiation, execution and closure for all project work
  • Coordinate support activities, including the development of internal and external communications, establishing roadmaps and benchmarks and developing training plans
  • Support, advise, assist, guide and resolve problems for client leaders and users
  • Works with developers, architects and other stakeholders to define and plan solutions
  • Ensures compliance with the project management methodologies and the Project Management Office processes and standards
  • Ensure conformance to system architecture, standards and practices
  • Lead one or more concurrent projects, delivering on time and within budget
  • Develop project plans, communication, manage dependencies, minimize risks
  • Manage Agile / Scrum teams, backlog, release schedules
  • Proactively identify corrective actions to address project delays & risks identified
  • Own and manage onshore operations for all applications supported by COE, leverage ITIL, reduce ADIR, escalation and outage management
  • Own program management office responsibilities

    Qualifications/Requirements
    Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management or other technical / IT field, OR (a minimum 4 years of relevant IT work experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience in developing and implementing large, complex projects
  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing effective business partner and stakeholder relationships
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data warehousing or data management
  • Minimum 1 year of operations management experience ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to work out of an office in Visteon Village, Wayne County, Van Buren Township (near Ann Arbor / Detroit)

  • Strong business acumen and IT leadership experience with proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget
  • Prior experience with global teams that are not co-located
  • Strong communication, influencing and negotiating skills to bring differing needs and viewpoints together to align with a longer term business and IT strategy related to business intelligence
  • Experience with industry-wide BI tools such as OBIEE, Business Objects, Qlikview or Spotfire
  • Experience leading data warehousing and data management solutions (quality, MDM, metadata, integration, etc.)
  • Black belt or Lean certified
  • PMP certified
  • Six-Sigma / PMI Certification
  • CAS or ITLP graduate
  • Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and / or industry activities.
  • Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
  • Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, builds strong customer relationships and creates processes with customer viewpoint
  • Strong analytical skills – strong problem solving skills, communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions, anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve
  • Change oriented – actively generates process improvements, supports and drives change and confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways
