Position Description/Duties:
  • Accountable for engineering quality, delivery, and cost performance for designing heavy duty mobile equipment
  • Responsible for GDP (Global Development Process) process execution for engineering
  • Coaching, mentoring, and development of engineering team members
  • Engineering project schedule development and execution and resource scheduling
  • Management of product life cycle
  • Proactive monitoring and management of engineering deliverables
  • Responsible for active risk mitigation plans
  • Project management handling of complex environment and resources
  • Facilitating design direction discussions within engineering team while balancing internal, external, and supplier constraints
  • Understand and promote customer requirements in the design process
  • Work with other functions as main engineering contact for project team
  • Clearly communicate project status to Chief Project Manager and others
  • Participate in Cross Functional Milling Project Team Meetings as the engineering representative
  • Approve ECN’s
  • Point person for all engineering activities pertaining to project (information flow); lead cross location engineering team

  • Bachelor’s Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Engineering
  • 5+ years' of progressive experience in engineering
  • 5+ years' management experience including multi-discipline technical background of complex automotive vehicles and systems

Special Skills Required:
  • Experience designing heavy duty mobile equipment
  • Scheduling and leading engineering projects
  • Adjusting resource scheduling, product life cycle management and project management with handling of complex environment and resources
  • Periodic travel required
