Directly responsible to the Director, Revenue Cycle Management. Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects. Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, collaborates resources in order to assign responsibilities and monitors and summarizes progress of project. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Develop and initiate working relationships between SCPA Section Staff and RCM billing staff to ensure maximization and education of processes. Collaborates with Senior Leadership, Managers, Providers and front line staff in enhancing and supporting organizational goals for practice accessibility, increased revenue cycle performance and customer service. Provide on-going guidance and feedback to Operation Directors and clinical leaders on key indicator trends and performance and recommends actions to optimize revenues and reduce barriers that reduce collectibles. Perform other duties as assigned and or/assume additional responsibilities as required.
Skills & Abilities:
o Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to motivate personnel.
o Be deadline and detail oriented
o Thorough knowledge of all third party claims submission process and ability to keep current on changes in policies, regulations of eligibility, established procedures, required forms, etc., associated with the various third party payers.
o Working knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding.
o Ability to lead/instruct employees and to reorganize work flow, set priorities and determine the best method to expedite work within RCM.
Knowledge of and experience with automated systems, hardware and software to include Practice Management and Microsoft Suite applications.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Project
Training & Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Services, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Three (3) – five (5) years progressive experience in Revenue Cycle Management operations in a large healthcare organization. Exposure to an academic environment strongly desired. Project Management experience preferred.
Direct – None; Indirect supervision during established projects.
