Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager/Solutions Architect position will work directly with the solutions delivery teams to relay needs to and from customers. This will be a customer-facing role, wherein the primary functions will include project management, solution prototyping, requirements and financial analysis, and technical and business solution synthesizing. This role requires a strong technical project management background and several years of solutions delivery experience. The NNSA’s custom solutions are extensive and complex and require in-depth understanding of business and technical viewpoints.
Ensures programs are envisioned, designed, developed, and implemented across the enterprise to meet business needs.
Interface with the enterprise technical team(s), cyber security, and other functional areas to ensure that solutions are efficiently designed and meet business needs.
Provide analysis, design, and prototyping support for robust solutions that include interconnected components of a complex system involving many other groups and organizations within the NNSA.
Work directly with the federal and contracting organization to provide critical leadership and guidance in the product/process envisioning, requirements definition, and design processes.
Evaluate, and when necessary prototype, alternatives to determine the most appropriate approach for each solution.
Prepare design documentation that can be understood by technical, functional and business teams throughout the organization.
Provide support to the engineering team members to estimate the level of effort required for a given project or component.
Represent the project and the NNSA in discussions with internal and external groups and organizations, including executive staff, vendors, solutions delivery teams, industry organizations, etc.
Monitor current and future trends, technology and information that will positively affect organizational projects; apply and integrate these trends where appropriate.
Contribute to the overall system implementation strategy for the enterprise and participates in appropriate forums, meetings, presentations etc. to meet goals.
Gathers and understands client needs, finding key areas where technology leverage is possible to improve internal and external business processes, define architectural approaches, and develop technology proofs.
Monitors the project lifecycle from intake through delivery. Ensures the entire solution design is complete and consistent from the start and seeks to eliminate as much re-work as possible.
Must be a US Citizen able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
10+years related experience
5+ years of software/systems experience at senior level
Demonstrated ability to lead the design and development of complex process and technology solutions.
Proven experience as a technical leader.
Proven track record in large-scale environments
Expertise in Lean and Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, Agile Modeling, etc.
Strong sense of responsibility and ownership for the success of projects.
Demonstrated leadership ability and confidence to work closely with members of different teams or organizations in collaborative scenarios.
