McGraw-Hill Professional has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager, Digital Content position in our New York City offices.
The Project Manager, Digital Content will work under the direction of the Director of Digital Production and with others within the division and with third party vendors to manage multiple projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for participating on project teams, completing individual responsibilities, developing schedules, and coordinating all necessary resources to ensure completion of projects on time and within budget.
This position will participate in project teams in the development of ancillary products to accompany various print products in a number of disciplines--medical, test prep, and computing to name three--which meet the end-users needs. These ancillary products could include CDs, DVDs, iPod/iPad products, and OLCs. Many aspects of the product development will be included, such as, coordinating with Sponsoring Editor on specs for functionality and “look and feel” of product, direct contact with product developer (conveying desired end product ideas to vendor), data conversion, proofing of data, disk label, and jacket copy, beta testing, and delivery of final Gold master to print production for replication or to web technology group for online posting.
Participate in a team responsible for the updating of various online web resources. This could include daily, weekly, or monthly updates to online content as well as adding entire new chapters to various websites. The content would be reviewed, copy edited, routed to author and to vendor, proofed, and then approved for online publication.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Develop strong relationships with key project sponsors and team members.
Process invoices and requests for payments.
Bachelor’s Degree. Related industry experience a plus.
Minimum of five years experience in all phases of project management.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Excellent interpersonal skills working with project team, stakeholders, and vendors.
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines consistently is required.
Strong problem-solving skills.
