Under supervision of the Sr. Director or another senior manager, the project coordinator manages and coordinates a variety of activities and resources in an information technology project life cycle (initiation planning, executing/controlling, and closing) in support of small and medium sized projects that are small to medium scope, impact, risk and complexity.
Work flow study and analysis of business practices - 30%
o Understand and document business requirements and existing processes as they relate to information technology solutions
o Responsible for coordinating projects, activities, and resources in support of one or more small to medium technical projects.
o Uses technical project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques to ensure projects adhere to high quality standards.
Schedules and coordinates project tasks, ensures completion of assigned actions, identifies project/production issues, and works with project team to provide solutions or escalates to avoid project delays. - 60%
o Assist in coordinating and directing activities of project team
o Assist in developing project plans and schedules
o Meet customer expectations and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Understand and document business requirements and existing processes as they relate to information technology solutions
o Generates reports regarding project and budget status and facilitates communication efforts.
o Compiles and maintains project documentation and issues log, coordinates implementation activities across a broad range of functions and departments, and works with client groups to identify training needs.
o Works with project teams to develop and document processes and procedures, enhances websites to host project documents, reports, and related information.
o Serves as primary point of contact for project information and updates.
Project management for technological and business solutions - 10%
o Make recommendations for hardware/software requirements
o Manage software vendors and internal service providers
o Assist in monitoring project schedules and taking corrective action and resolves issues to stay on schedule
o Cultivate and foster customer service relationships
Associates degree in related field or plus 1 years of experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated aptitude to quickly and effectively adapt to technologies outside of current experience
Experience with use of business applications in Client Server or web-based environments
Strong project management skills, communication, issue/risk escalation, meeting facilitation, cross-functional connectivity and overall corporate etiquette.
Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written in conjunction with the ability to interact with various levels of management and all levels of resources throughout the company professionally.
Must have excellent meeting facilitation and organizational skills.
Must have the ability to manage many multiple activities and assignments, prioritization skills as well as the ability to escalate appropriately.
