This person will lead proposal development efforts for Naval Marine Inc. in Walpole, MA. The job requires independent actions within a matrix team with limited resource for support. It requires that the individual develop knowledge of company sales process and financial pricing system. The job requires a fundamental knowledge of ships as well as marine products and systems. He or she must use this knowledge to perform application engineering necessary o develop customer proposals including cost for the designs developed. He or she will work within a multi-discipline, multi-function, global team, with high level of customer contact. This individual must effectively interface with the global sales force and the wider Rolls-Royce Business Development team.

Responsibilities :
Lead the proposal development process in accordance with RRNMI standards and guidelines

Develop preliminary applications of products or systems to meet stated customer requirements

Formulate cost estimates of the offered systems, and manage the sales process to obtain management approvals as required

Manage the Bid & Proposal process for the business ensuring all active projects have approved budgets established and that the overall expenditures are within the established RRNMI ( Rolls-Royce Marine Naval Marine Industries) budget. Support the Weekly Prospect Review and attend weekly staff meetings.

Operate within the Bid & Proposal process for NMI ( Naval Marine Industries) ensuring all active projects have approved budgets established and that the overall expenditures are within the established RRNMI budget. Support the weekly staff meetings.

Consult and advise the NMI Business Development team on proposal development.

Qualifications and experience

Basic:
Bachelors degree in Naval Architecture , Marine or Mechanical Engineering or in another engineering discipline and 4 years experience to include service aboard ships or marine activity experience or a Master's with 2 years of experience that includes service aboard ships or marine activity

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Proficient in use of Microsoft products especially Excel, Word and Project

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:
Demonstrated high level of self–direction, motivation and interpersonal skills

Self-starter who works well within a team environment.
