Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Proposal Specialist to join our team at our corporate headquarters located in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. Reporting directly to the Proposal Manager, this position will be responsible for a broad range of duties related to the support of proposal development. This includes, but is not limited to, RFP requirements analysis, scheduling and timeline reporting, research, compliance, writing, editing, and production. This role is key to helping SDSE develop winning proposals and will allow the successful candidate to gain significant experience in regards to the federal government procurement process and proposal creation.

Responsibilities :
Coordination of proposal activities, including data calls, past performance questionnaires, meeting invites, etc
Identify proposal format guidelines and needs, responsible parties, and due dates
Research opportunities and requirements for Requests For Proposals (RFPs)
Ensure proposals are compliant with the solicitation, make appropriate copies of RFP responses, and ship for on-time arrival, when necessary
Edit, revise, and update content for RFPs as it becomes outdated
Maintain proposal databases and libraries to ensure all content is organized and available
Provide copy editing and writing support as needed
Provide graphic design and formatting support as needed
Assist in all aspects of proposal production, including assembling binders, organizing shipping, and burning CDs
Coordinate all proposal efforts with various teams, including business development, operations, HR/recruiting, and finance

Required Experience :
Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a concentration on English, Journalism, or similar
The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of experience as a proposal specialist or proposal analyst, or has held a professional position that included significant writing responsibilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Ability to quickly learn the process for federal business development, capture, and proposal development
Ideal candidate should be an independent, proactive self-starter with a strong commitment to high quality work and attention to detail
Capable of reprioritizing efforts to meet changes in needs
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on transparency, accountability, cooperation, and communication
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a tenacious attitude
