As the Practitioner responsible for all patient care, the certified practitioner independently or supervises the provision of comprehensive orthotic and prosthetic care. This includes patient assessment, formulation of a treatment plan, implementation of a treatment plan follow up and practice management. In addition, the practitioner must maintain professional responsibilities which promote and assure the overall welfare of the patient and integrity of the profession. Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science with certificate in prosthetics and orthotics approved by a CAAHEP Accredited Program or Baccalaureate degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics.

A minimum of five years of direct experience in orthotics and prosthetics is required. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification: Board Certified in Orthotics. Preferred Board certified in Prosthetics and Texas State licensed to practice Orthotics.
