Provides direct patient care to behavioral health patients in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the facility. Performs initial and on-going bio-psychosocial assessments according to accepted standards of nursing practice. Develops a nursing plan of care consistent with the master treatment plan. Participates in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient. Evaluates patient's response to interventions and revises nursing plan of care as needed. Collaborates with the treatment team to revise goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the changes in patient status. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision and must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing current Alabama RN License required . Two years experience required in behavioral health. Graduation from a school for practical nursing and Completion of unit specific certification course work within three months required. BCLS certification is required within three months. ACLS certification is required within twelve months.
Special Skills or Knowledge/Certifications or Licenses :
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Alabama License required as a registered nurse.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
