JOB SUMMARY: The Psychologist in the Behavior Pediatrics Clinic is responsible for developing and delivering behavioral health services to children and adolescents, and their families. Scope of services will include diagnostic evaluations, functional assessments, development of treatment plans, individual therapy, family therapy and education, group services and consultation. It is expected that evidence-based treatment protocols will be used. Job duties include developing clinical services to meet the need of consumers, forming partnerships with local pediatric groups, assisting in marketing services and delivering evidence-based services. The Psychologist will be expected to provide a minimum of 25 hours of billable services per week. The Psychologist is encouraged to respond to grant and research opportunities. The Psychologist will also be responsible for providing some clinical supervision to interns and post-docs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Psychologist must be able to consistently and successfully perform all essential functions of the position.
1. Deliver evidence-based assessments and interventions for children, adolescents and their families with ADHD, autism, disruptive behavior disorders and other mental health or child development concerns.
2. Develop partnerships with local pediatricians, to assist in providing needed behavioral health services in pediatric settings.
3. Supervise interns and post-docs as needed
4. Assist in marketing services to the community
5. Conduct all duties, responsibilities, and daily activities in accordance with current best practice and ethical guidelines
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology. Minimum of 3 years experience with relevant clinical programs. Demonstrated formal training and/experience in the use of evidence-based practices.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Etc. – NYS license in Psychology required. Additionally, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS - Command of the English language exhibiting the ability to verbally communicate, read and interpret general education periodicals/professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations; write and comprehend routine instructions, short correspondence, reports, etc. Ability to effectively present information informally in one-on-one or small group situations, as well as formal presentations to large groups.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Due to the behavioral disorders of some of the children we serve, persons may be at risk of intentional or unintentional acts of aggression (e.g., hitting, kicking, and biting). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
