The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and computer support to the chair and faculty/students of the Psychology Department, and the Neuroscience Program. Duties include answering the phone, greeting students, faculty and other visitors to the department, fielding questions, maintaining the department webpage, creating and updating computer surveys, maintaining department files for personnel, budget, research and assessment, acquiring supplies and equipment, and providing support for major department functions (e.g., faculty searches and reviews, speakers, preregistration). A major aspect of the position involves interacting with students, providing them with information and helping them sort out problems with registration, courses, and the Psi Chi Honor Society. The selected candidate will also supervise three work study students.

Qualifications Qualifications include a required High School diploma or equivalent with an associate's or bachelor's degree preferred, plus 1-3 years office experience, extensive computer skills including basic webpage maintenance, and knowledge of e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Organizational skills, ability to work independently and initiative are critically important, as well as the ability and desire to acquire new skills and to multi-task. Candidates should have a desire to work with considerable autonomy, enjoy interacting with students and faculty, and have strong organizational and computer skills.
