This position is in the Department of Protective Services located at the Medical School Campus.
Protective Services is seeking a Public Safety Officer. This position assists with enforcement of university policy/procedures, patrolling facilities and responding to emergency situations. Specific duties include; internal/external patrol of university properties reporting security hazards to central communications, receive/compile information for incident reports on minor, non-criminal incidents, responds to emergency situations and assists response personnel and conduct building rounds. Continuous movement throughout the medical school complex, needs flexible hours, short notice schedule changes due to manpower needs and ability to work in various weather patterns. Perform duties primarily on foot and in uniforms. Computer literacy, ability to walk and stand for long periods of time, ability to run short distances.
High school graduate or equivalent required. Good oral and written communication skills required.
Some college course work and/or previous work experience highly prefered.
The minimum to midpoint of the salary range is $11.46 - $14.32 per hour.
