1) PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE:|
Siewert Equipment, an established distributor of pump & process equipment, is in search of a qualified candidate for the position of Pump Engineering Technician. This position requires several years of experience with maintenance and repair of centrifugal pumps.
The Service Department offers MECHANICAL and ELECTRICAL expertise to support installation, start-up commissioning, testing, maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair services for a wide variety of pumps and other types of rotating equipment. Services include a combination of in-house and field services to support Industrial and Municipal customers throughout upstate NY. This role requires a reliable individual with experience and skills sufficient to independently coordinate engineering & repair services to our customers.
The purpose of the Pump Improvement Technician/Engineer position is to achieve excellence in pump evaluation and repair services. Key objectives include implementing processes & procedures for quality workmanship, expanding overall service capabilities, and building & maintaining partnerships with key customers and suppliers. This position requires a motivated professional with a high degree of technical expertise. Essential characteristics include excellent customer service skills, teamwork, attention to detail, flexibility to travel, and ability to independently manage multiple projects.
2) KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide hands-on technical trouble-shooting and repair services for rotating equipment, primarily but not limited to centrifugal pumps. Lead role and responsibility for service & repair projects across multiple Service Centers and in accordance with business needs and priorities. Prepare accurate and professional proposals for a variety of technical services including trouble-shooting, evaluation, repair, and consultative services. Prepare comprehensive “Inspection & Repair” reports to include a detailed evaluation of critical components, failure analysis, specific repair recommendations, and operational recommendations necessary to restore performance and reliability. Develop and build relationships with key service customers throughout NY, targeting the heavy industrial, power, commercial, and municipal markets. Provide guidance and instruction to key suppliers and partners for contracted services including metal machine & fabrication, sand blast & paint, systems and controls, vibration analysis, and crane & rigging services. Provide technical assistance & support to coworkers, colleagues, and customers. Assist with preparation and delivery of technical presentations, workshops, and trainings for customers and colleagues. Establish policies and procedures to improve standardization and workmanship throughout all Repair Centers. Assists with employee training and development to improve the capabilities and versatility of each Repair Center. Assist with “Safety” initiatives to maintain safe work environments and help ensure employees have the proper trainings, certifications, tools, and resources required to perform assigned work in a safe manner. Consistently provide courteous and professional representation of Siewert Equipment employees and products. Promote a professional environment of extraordinary customer service and technical capabilities to differentiates our organization from others in the industry. 3) PERFORMANCE METRICS:

Minimum 5 years Pump Maintenance & Repair experience required. Experience with high energy pumps preferred. Planned & Predictive Maintenance and Reliability experience preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Technical degree preferred. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and 100 lbs. assisted. Valid drivers’ license and ability to drive without restriction. 5) COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
