LBP/Terrace Paper Company is a designer and manufacturer of corrugated cartons and displays and innovative foodservice and beverage packaging. LBP/Terrace Paper has been operational for more than 30 years offering packaging to a number of business throughout the U.S. Position SummaryInspect and test incoming raw materials, work in process and finished goods in accordance with written procedures. Audit products and processes for conformance to company quality and food safety systems Responsibilities Perform quality and food safety inspections on the manufacturing line and in the laboratory in accordance with written procedures. Keep manager/supervisor informed of problems or situations that may affect production. Communicate with manufacturing, shipping and QA personnel in an effective manner. Test incoming raw materials as they arrive. Responsible for releasing raw material into production with appropriate documentation. Responsible for re-tests on rejected materials on the production lines. Conduct audits on finished goods and record findings. Record all data on worksheets and computer files. Run quality checks at production stations and notify QA Manager of any conformance problems. Type letters, reports, and documents as required. Responsible for notifying production personnel of out of conformance materials. Perform other duties as required.
High School graduate with some college preferred. Solid foundation in communication required; must pay close attention to detail and quality. One to two years Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge and experience in the packaging field a plus. Experience with measuring instrumentation: calipers, micrometers, moisture meters, etc., required. Able to read and interpret documents, ability to apply common sense understanding to carry our instructions furnished in written, oral or graphic form. Computer knowledge; Excel, Word and Access – good knowledge with spreadsheets and database. Must be able to type a minimum 35 W.P.M. and have good math skills.
