The Quality Manager assists and supports Project Engineer, Project Manager and Superintendents on assigned projects. The position plans, directs and supervises company quality control functions and activities established by corporate policy and contract requirements. The Quality Manager must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills. Major Duties & Responsibilities Implement company quality control (assurance) program manual in compliance with contract and company requirements As required by quality control program manual, perform activities such as jobsite and supplier audits, document control and quality records management, material procurement traceability and control, hold quality preparatory phase meetings with staff, daily quality reports, etc. Notification to Management of all quality issues Ability to provide administrative and technical direction to quality control personnel Act as liaison with owner, regulatory agencies, subcontractors and/or internal departments on quality related matters as required Insure company standards as outlined in quality control (assurance) manual are effectively implemented Insure adequate corrective measures are implemented in cases of noncompliance
      • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
      • Communicate and enforce Skanska Safety and Health Management Program
      • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring others
      • Other duties as assigned or required

      Job Skills & Abilities Guidelines
      • Working knowledge of regulatory agency QA/QC activities
      • Ability to supervise personnel
      • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office Products
      • Broad understanding of industry
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills
      • Functions effectively as part of a team
      • Dependability
      • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
      • Ability to understand and follow directions
      • Good time management skills and organizational skills
      • Ability to read drawings and specifications

      Education and/or Experience
      • Possess at least ten (10) years of highway, rail, subway or other related construction experience, with at least five (5) years experience in the capacity of full time Quality Control Management
      • ISO-9001 Quality Certification as recognized by ASQ and /or QAI preferred
      • Bachelor’s Degree – Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
      • Advanced degree or QA/QC training preferred
