A global investment bank in NYC is seeking a Technology Data Quality and Quality Assurance Specialist with experience in an investment banking environment to join their Global Corporate Technology Reference Data team. They are responsible for developing and supporting systems used for data management and provision across all business lines. Core areas of reference data coverage include client and counterparty, product (instrument), corporate action related data, internal access controls, and pricing.
The team interacts with a wide range of internal clients across the organisation, including Operations, Equity and Fixed Income markets, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Risk, and all other areas requiring reference data, providing pragmatic and strategic solutions. The current team is split across mulitple global locations providing subject matter expertise, functional and development capacity.
THE DAY TO DAY:
Interacting with key stakeholders from various areas of the business (e.g. Front Office, Legal, Compliance, Operations) to analyse requirements and produce data quality and test plans
Interact closely with development teams to ensure that requirements are accurately translated into test scenarios and ensure that testing approach and methods successfully verify that changes meet functional requirements
Identify opportunities to enhance testing efficiency and automation
Manage QA testing and User Acceptance Testing
Rapid assimilation and understanding of existing processes and applications and inter-relationships with the business and operational environment
Ability to build and independently manage relationships with key client stakeholders and rapidly understand their requirements
Ability to translate user needs into accurate and structured business requirement and functional specifications
WHAT GETS YOU THE JOB:
Experience in IT in an investment banking environment, ideally within projects related to reference data. The candidate should be experienced in all or some of Client, Book, product Data. Ideally you should have some project management experience working on technology change the bank projects.
Ability to create structured documentation of user requirements, functional specifications and translate into detailed test specifications using industry standard methodologies
Entity relationship modelling and SQL querying ability
Ability to work with and manipulate large data files (Excel, Access, etc.)
Experience with some of the Quality Assurance Tools i.e. QTP, LoadRunner, WinRunner, Selenium, shell scripting and other testing tools
Experience with setting up automated testing frameworks for functional and performance testing
Knowledge of Data Quality analysis and tools including Informatica IDQ
Understanding of Reference Data solutions and global challenges
Experience working in a rapidly changing and fast paced business environment
Experience working with off shore clients and delivery teams
Ability to read, understand and extract business logic from structured code (XML, PERL, Java, etc)
Experience in workflow based application testing
Experience of working in an "in-house" reference data team, or on the implementation of a reference data application
