QA and Customer Support Engineer
Location – Mountain View, CA
A start up creating highly interactive applications for the hospitality industryis looking for a QA and Customer Support Engineer to perform software testing and customer support. To provide full oversight, you’ll manage customer support enquiries, ensuring customer support issues are dealt with promptly and professionally and coordinate any internal activities needed to resolve them. You will also be a key member of the team, working closely with the engineering group to ensure changes to the core Web/Android platform are appropriately tested and refined before being released to customers. You will troubleshoot and resolve complex, critical and sensitive support issues. Provide customer feedback on their issues as they progress. Ensure customer satisfaction through professionalism and swift resolution. Recreate problems in house and provide evidence where bug fixes are required
Desired Experience & Requirements:
Minimum of 5years experience providing first and second level technical customer support & QA
A solid understanding of web and mobile (android) application technology and software architecture
A proactive approach and customer centric mindset, ability to resolve customer queries in a friendly and helpful manner
Strong problem-solver and detail-oriented, ability to take a systematic approach to problem determination and issue resolution, hunting down the underlying issues
Experience working with development teams, providing product feedback and resolving support issues
Hands-on experience testing newly-introduced features, regression testing and usability testing
Ability to design and create test scripts for android app’s using Robotium, scripting languages like Java or test frameworks a major plus
Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills, ability to simplify and communicate sometimes complex concepts.
Strong multi-tasker, managing multiple customer issues at the same time
Bachelors degree in a technology subject or equivalent industry experience an advantage
Experience with system networking and TCP/IP and DNS a plus
Experience with LINUX/UNIX a plus
Knowledge of MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra DB or other database a plus
