Description: The QA Engineer will be responsible for making an immediate Quality impact on customer website experience, including web application and customer set up situations. This position puts you on the front line of new site functionality and is critical to our top priority of providing every customer with a world-class online experience. As a Web QA Engineer you will be in the forefront of our online business. The QA Engineer will work with our Web Development locally and overseas, IT, Technical Support and Customer Support teams.
The QA Engineer will test user applications and features before they are released to our website. This role will be the gatekeeper for all website usability content changes and must ensure that everything we do is in support of sales and customer satisfaction.
Build, execute, and promote a quality assurance (QA) methodology for technical projects and enhancements delivered by our web development team.
Partner with web development team to develop, schedule, and execute QA test plans; test, writing script code for common user cases.
Manage requirements and defects, plan and execute manual and automated test scripts, trace test cases to requirements, analyze the QA process, and deliver reporting.
Advanced knowledge of online video formats, web formats and technologies from the web testing space - i.e., browser compatibility, and QA script tools in order to write scripts for common user cases.
Execute essential QA review steps in daily content migration process, providing timely and detailed QA feedback to web developers, through signing off on final QA approvals before launching to website.
Ensure that all migrated site content, new applications, or site functionality meet technical and functional requirements, best-practice coding and usability standards, and stated business objectives.
Assume ownership of site content standards and interface with the executive team to ensure the best user.
Integrate an understanding of work order requirements and content creation processes through QA review to ensure that content meets the requirements set forth by the senior management and user experiences.
Assume ownership of process development in the interest of raising and maintaining our execution quality at a level of excellence and work with department leadership to implement process adjustments as issues arise.
Ensure that user defects, future enhancements, and usability issues in assigned projects are tracked and summarized, and present findings to senior management.
Understanding of web applications, video, firewall, security software, cookies, download speeds and how they might impact user interface sessions.
Ability to research the web to find solution to known user interface problems and develop solutions to resolve quickly.
Ability to resolve cause requires a combination of knowledge in variety of software, our site, and customer setup and the interworking of all of those.
Develop instructions and FAQ's for website if internal fix is not available.
Experience and qualifications:
BS degree required.
3-5 years, web quality assurance or web usability experience.
Attention to detail, analytical approach, and desire to achieve 100% user excellence.
Ability to identify the relationship of bugs to software code.
Ability to anticipate and identify preventative solutions for problem areas.
Ability to make and enforce timely, consistent, and logically sound decisions.
Experience with testing Mobile/Smart phone devices along with mobile apps.
Understanding of web browsers, video formats, QA script and the constraints of designing for online media.
