DESCRIPTION

GENERAL FUNCTION: Manages the training component of the Career Development Programs to ensure instructional programs meet or exceed required standards. Oversees the testing and accountability systems. Provides Assistance to Deputy Center Director in the evaluation of the ACT/WBL programs.

DUTIES

Provides leadership and outlines the direction and general strategies that the department will take to achieve and maintain excellence in all educational phases of career development.2. Ensures that training programs operate in compliance with the appropriate Program, PRH Handbook, and Corporate goals and objectives.3. Ensures that approved curriculum is taught in individual classrooms.4. Ensures that proper teaching methods are being employed for each area of instruction.5. Demonstrates instructional techniques through actual teaching and in service training for staff.6. Provides guidance in the arrangement and chairs the ACT/WBL Screening Committee for all students who apply for and meet the basic requirements for the ACT/WBL Program.1. Assists in the development and implementation of curricula and monitors the instructional program performance.2. Establishes a program, which uses skilled students as tutors or aides.3. Coordinates cooperative, joint efforts between Training and CDP Teams to ensure that student career goals are met. 4. Develops a contingency plan for the staffing of classrooms, in the absence of regular instructors.5. Ensures that employability skills, attitudes and knowledge is practiced and integrated into all phases of career development and student life on Center. 6. Guides and promotes safe work performance by developing safety systems, policies and procedures, communications and recognition for subordinates in areas supervised.7. Describe goals, performance expectations and standards, and articulate how their individual performance supports the admission, career preparation, career development and career transition of students.OTHER FUNCTIONS: 1. Develops job performance standards and work assignments which monitor the work performance of the department.2. Exhibits behaviors and best practices that are consistent with the vision and values of the company.3. Practices social skills and behavior management with students and staff that are consistent with the Job Corps Social Skills Training Program and Behavior Management System.4. Works as part of the team to assure that Performance Outcome Measurement Report Card goals are obtained.5. Operates Center vehicles to provide transportation for students as assigned/needed.6. QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor Degree in Administration, Counseling, Education, and three years in responsible managerial work which provided a review of work of others or work as an instructor of educational (academic or vocational) programs. ORAn Associate Degree or equivalent in Administration, Counseling, Education, and seven years in responsible managerial work which provided a review of work of others or work as an instructor of educational (academic or vocational) programs. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Effective verbal and written communication skills* Effective organizational skills* Effective interpersonal skills* Classroom instruction and curriculum development* Ability to interpret data and analyze its use within educational programsLicenses or Certificates: * A valid Regular Driver License is required.* State Teacher certification required.
