DESCRIPTION

GENERAL FUNCTION: Provide guidance, direction and supervision to students in assigned dormitory in accordance with PRH Chapter 3; 3.16 Residential Living. Assist students in achievement of academic, career technical training, and employability goals. Assist students in development of self-management, independent living and community living skills. Model workplace expectations, and mentor and monitor students in achieving the Career Success Standards competencies.

DUTIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Supervises all student activities in the residential area.Fosters a dormitory environment conducive to learning of self-management, independent living, and community living skills.Assists student in adjustment to Center life and making behavioral changes that will enhance their personal growth and development.Maintains a clean, orderly, safe, and comfortable dormitory environment for students assigned and supervises student daily housekeeping chores.Documents and maintains accurate information to ensure all students accountability at all times.Conducts daily dorm meetings to schedule and plan required activities, permits an exchange of student views on dorm needs and concerns to reach resolution, and encourages leadership development.Provides individual and group guidance on an informal and/or structured basis in close coordination with appropriate counseling staff.Maintains accurate records of the personal and social development of each student and participate in periodic reviews of individual student's progress.Facilitates Life Skills training sessions to support student achievement of the Career Success Standards competencies.Models, mentors and monitors the CSS competencies and intervenes by addressing inappropriate student behavior when necessary.OTHER FUNCTIONS: Exhibits behaviors and best practices that are consistent with the vision and values of the company.Practices employability skills and behavior management with students and staff that are consistent with the Job Corps Career Success Standards and Behavior Management System.Practices safe work habits to eliminate and control potential safety and health hazards to maintain a safe workplace environment. Attends all safety training as scheduled.Works as part of the team to assure that Performance Outcome Measurement System goals are achieved.Models, supports and integrates employability skills, attitude and knowledge into all phases of career development and student life on Center.Operates Center vehicles to provide transportation for students as assigned/needed.Performs other job-related duties as assigned by designated and/or authorized staff.This job description does not list all the duties of the job. QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Residential Advisor IHigh School Diploma or equivalent and experience working in a residential setting required. NOTE: Associate Degree is preferred. Safe driving record required.Residential Advisor IIAn Associate Degree or equivalent and experience working in a residential setting are required.NOTE: Bachelor Degree is preferred.Safe driving record required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Effective verbal and written communication skills.Effective organizational skills.Effective interpersonal skills.Licenses or Certificates: A valid Driver's License is required.
