R esponsible for assisting Plant Quality Manager with Customer visits and surveys, PPAP documentation, cost reduction program, and general process engineering functions. The direction of efforts are to be towards achievement of profit and balanced growth within the objectives of the company.
II . JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
Prepare PFMEAs, Control Plans, and PFDs on new processes / parts.
Leading teams focused on improving manufacturing quality.
Assist in driving quality measurement and quality improvement.
Be a leader in developing and implementing manufacturing process improvement.
Prepare Inspection test requirements, criteria, and techniques for new and existing products.
Review existing processes for continual improvement.
Assist Quality Manager in developing procedures and instructions for QMS.
Assist Quality Manager in maintaining and improving QMS.
Assist Quality Manager with MRB activities.
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT:
Once a customer places a job with Flambeau, incumbent will work with internal support personnel to assure successful launch of the program and will provide on going liaison with the customer
Assist with product samplings of molds and have a Quality Representative present at those samplings
Provide customer knowledge to Quality Assurance departments on individual parts supplying help in their preparation of a Quality Assurance plan
Revise and re-sample tools as needed before turning them over for production
COST REDUCTION PROGRAM:
Suggest and implement changes in manufacturing or tooling for cost reduction and improvement in operating profits after proper approval of dollar expenditures
Maintain costs within approved budget for the function
Should have a good understanding of tooling, machinery, processing and materials used in the molding process
Provide on-going engineering support to the production areas
Have a mind set of how to do things better, more consistent, quicker, cheaper and more efficiently.
OTHER AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Assist in follow up of corrective action due to quality problems
Complete corrective action reports when necessary
Assure Scientific Molding set ups are documented
Perform other tasks as requested by manager
Interaction with customers and vendors
III. EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
B/S Degree in Engineering, Mechanical desired
Background in ISO-9000 & TS16949 desired
1 to 3-years experience (Preferable Injection and blow molding)
Ability to work independently as well as with others
Job function will involve working in an office and manufacturing type setting that will involve sitting, walking, bending, and squatting
Training using Autocad or Solid Works desired
Experience with Kaizen, 5s, SMED, Cellular concepts, and Mistake Proofing desired
Willingnes too learn; Strong preference will be giving to
those early in career or education
