Summary of Work:
The Quality Assurance Analyst will assist the Quality Assurance Manager in development, maintenance and oversight of QA testing efforts and processes within the ITD Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process. Testing efforts include but are not limited to: System, Functional, Regression, Security and Performance. Individual will work with software development teams on assigned projects to develop test plans and test cases, execute test cases and confirm quality assurance criteria are met for the applications developed within the Software Development Division of the Information Technology Department, State of ND. This position is responsible for coordinating all software QA efforts for assigned projects.
Verify quality goals and strategies are followed for Software Development projects.
Execute quality processes for Software Development projects.
Mentor staff on quality assurance processes.
Assist in metrics gathering, analysis and reporting activities for Software Development projects.
Individual must have excellent oral and written communication skills; exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills; and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Duties & Tasks:
Coordinate Quality Assurance (QA) testing efforts within the business process and oversee their effective implementation.
Implement quality goals and strategies.
Work with project team to build test plans and test cases.
Execute functional test cases manually or with test automation tools.
Experience with regression testing of automated test scripts.
Create, execute and maintain automated test scripts for security and performance tests.
Communicate defect issues to the development team.
Review, document and update the quality processes and standards.
Educate and mentor testers/developers on quality processes, delivery and models.
Expertise with test automation and test case management tools and/or security and performance testing tools.
Understanding of API testing.
Keep current on new testing methods and tools as it emerges by reading, networking with others, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
