The Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician assists with ensuring the quality of raw materials, processes, and finished products through laboratory testing. The Technician is responsible for analyzing both raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet both internal and external quality control target limits. The Quality Assurance team monitors the overall product quality and safety in relation to the manufacturing of high quality soup, side and entrée products in a dynamic, fast paced USDA, FDA food manufacturing facility. This 2nd Shift position reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor.

Daily/Position Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):
·Conducting daily incoming material inspections for product quality and food safety.
·Conducting analytical testing on incoming materials including pH, Sodium, Fat Percentage, Viscosity, Brix, Cooking etc.
·Tracking, verification and data entry of raw material specification and Certificate of Analysis.
·Assisting with verification and validation by collecting data and assisting with the generation of reports.
·Taking action when non-conformances are noted, including placing products on hold an initiating root cause investigation.
·Assisting with verification and validation by collecting data and assisting with the generation of reports.
·Reviewing supplier food safety documentation for approval of ingredients and suppliers.
·Performing required microbiological testing of required raw materials, finished goods and environmental samples.
·Assisting in the effective completion and documentation of daily and non-daily scheduled tasks as required.
·Notifying Senior Technician when non-conformances are noted, including placing raw materials on hold, coordinating evaluations, and assuring proper documentation is completed.

The successful candidate will possess a passion for food processing. Candidates should have a developed palette and be able to use that ability to monitor the consistency of a wide variety of products. Associate's degree (A. A.) in a related field or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 2 + years related quality assurance experience. Candidate must have above average mathematics skills with the ability to interpret testing data relating to production specifications, as well as familiarity with statistical process control and quality assurance concepts, tools, and reporting procedures. Candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of computers with database and spreadsheet software experience. Must be detail oriented with above average organizational skills. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and must be able to interact in a dynamic team environment while displaying tact and diplomacy with peers and management.

Compensation: $13-$16/hr DOE
