Company Background: Founded in 1992, American Turbo Systems is a manufacturer and product support facility for gas turbine power generation systems used in Commercial and Military applications.

Job Summary: This is a hands-on precision mechanical inspection position, which also includes the responsibility of supervising other employees who have been granted limited inspection authority.

Position Responsibilities: Use common mechanical inspection equipment to perform in-process and final inspections on partially machined, fully machined, and other turbine engine components per company and aerospace standards.
Complete all paperwork in accordance to company and aerospace standards.
Interact with shop and shipping personnel to move work through the shop in accordance to work order planning.

Major Requirements:

 Must have very good working knowledge in the use of all types of standard inspection measurement equipment, such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, thread gauges, optical comparator, and be Proficient in the use of Mitutoyo, or similar CMM.

 Must be capable of efficiently performing in process, final inspections, and return to service inspections with high accuracy.

 Must be able to read, interpret, and work from component maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, and engineering drawings.

 Must have excellent English speaking, reading, and writing skills.

 Must have a minimum of 5 years of mechanical inspection experience, preferably in the aerospace turbine engine industry.

 Must have good computer skills

 Must be flexible, capable of multi-tasking and capable of maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.

Additional Skills Preferred: Familiar with the use of FARO arm CMM. Familiar with FAR part 21, 45, 65, 121, 125, 135, and 145.
