Quality Engineer (QE) supports the factory with a special focus on our metal
fabrication departments. This position
is responsible for all quality and other performance metrics in the following
areas: laser cutting, forming/bending, machining, welding, powder coat painting
and other support areas within fabrication.
The QE works closely with Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Customer
Care & Warranty, Purchasing and Manufacturing Engineering.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality issues by defining issues, collecting and analyzing data (including
root cause and corrective actions), and effectively presenting findings
throughout the organization.
methods for production quality to validate and improve products and processes.
and support training to build quality awareness both internally and externally.
process/product changes to improve quality, cost or delivery metrics.
with Engineering and Operations to solve specification issues.
internal quality review meetings.
and communicate internal performance and maintain metric files and database.
and conduct process/product audits to include corrective action closure.
and train Quality Inspectors to ensure products and processes meet
control plans and support Manufacturing Engineering to qualify new or changed
degree in Engineering, preferably in Quality Engineering, Industrial
Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

(statistical process control), reliability engineering, and continuous
management skills and ability to interact with management.
