Quality Manager - IT
Quality Management (QM) is a centralized and embedded team that leads and coordinates the vision, principles, and standards of quality. Our mission is to enable the Information Technology Group (ITG) to deliver enhanced quality products through well defined controls, and shift focus from defect detection to defection prevention. Additionally, QM is focused not only on product quality, but also the means to achieve it.

The QM Manager will play a key role in managing and supporting the full lifecycle for Quality Management related, large scale projects including planning, organizing and test execution in the QM organization. The QM manager will also support quality related activities for maintenance releases.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Lead quality planning activities for projects and standard maintenance efforts including budget estimates, scope, quality approach, schedules, deliverables and leadership reporting
  • Drive the identification and implementation of quality processes and practices
  • Monitor and manage solution stability controls and overall quality execution
  • Manage significant deviations, identify opportunities for increased effectiveness and minimize risk
  • Partner with clients and other stakeholders to identify and anticipate current and future business needs
  • Manage and consult to ensure that delivery expectations are developed, managed and met
  • Oversee operational activities of the Quality team
  • Identify resource demand: collaborate with peer Quality Management to staff the quality work-stream, establishing clear roles, responsibilities and deliverables, and monitor team and individual capacity and contributions
  • Provide comprehensive leadership and consulting within and across teams for quality practices
  • Effectively integrate across all functions to support the successful execution of the Service Delivery Model
  • Provide management and leadership to Quality team members
o Manage performance and development of each team member
o Participate in the interview process and selection of new associates
o Recommend salary increases, promotions and transfers for staff
o Build and support a strong team
  • Manage vendor partner relationships and hold them accountable for service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators
  • Represent all of IT to their business partners Hiring Criteria Skills/qualifications:
  • BS, MS or equivalent in Computer Science or similar degree
  • 7+ years experience in Quality Management involving management of the quality lifecycle including functional testing, regression, integration testing, automation, performance and user acceptance testing
  • 5+ years of supervisory and people management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of test estimation techniques
  • Strong leadership presence, communication and influencing skills
  • Strategic thinking skills and ability to articulate a high-level vision and business value
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to rally representatives across various departments toward a common vision
  • Ability to work under pressure and ambiguity
  • Financial services experience, particularly in the Asset management space, is preferred
  • Experience in the Web development and testing space, is preferred
  • Information Security or Risk experience, is a plus
