Perform technical laboratory work to assist in the establishment of an active, extramurally funded research laboratory. Clone, express and purify proteins from bacteria. Work with pathogenic streptococci bacteria, prepare media and solutions, and analyze experimental data. Maintain records, logs, and reports to document laboratory activities, order of supplies and equipment, and perform laboratory upkeep (cleaning, minor preventive maintenance).

Required Qualifications
B.S. in microbiology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other life science discipline. Six months of laboratory experience in microbiology or biochemistry research.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with recombinant DNA technology, protein expression/purification, general microbiological techniques.
