The Department of Microbiology & Immunology seeks a Research Specialist. The responsibilities of the Research Specialist will include isolation, culture, and molecular genetic analysis of pathogenic bacteria. Experience working with biological agents in accordance with NIH/CDC BSL-2 and BSL-3 guidelines and CDC Select Agent regulations is desirable. Candidates should be able to develop and troubleshoot methods, perform experiments with minimal supervision, and communicate effectively (orally and in writing) with other laboratory members. A bachelor's in biology, biochemistry, or a related science or a bachelor's degree with previous laboratory experience in one of these areas is desired. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in bacteriology and/or microbiology.

Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.
