: Generally optimization, tuning and trouble shooting for GSM & UMTS cellular networks, including: WCDMA Radio Network feature Tuning and parameter optimization through statistical analysis and trials.
• Neighbor creation implementation depending on carrier, technology and
layer management strategy.
• Performing cell classification based on site densification, carriers and inter-
site distance.
• Ensuring IRAT HO and IFHO occurs where required, detecting and resolving swapped sectors, resolving over-shooters
• Preparing drive routes, cluster polygon and analysing log files that have been super-streamed or in a repository to find out problem areas of the network, layer 3 message analysis, sorting out Coverage,Interference, Pilot Pollution, Hand-over problems, Call Drop problems and making Recommendations to improve Coverage and other Drive Test related KPIs
• Post-Processing and analysis of Drive Test log files Using TEMS and Actix to create drive test reports and highlight certain issues and give recommendations.
• Ensuring all KPI's for Accessibility, Retainability, Service Integrity and Throughput, are met before SSV's, NSB's and Clusters are delivered to the customer.
• Radio network optimization at Special events, detecting RBS faults, T1 errors,
configuration issues and resolving them in order to improve KPI's and exceed customers' expectation.
• GSM traffic re-dimensioning, balancing, layer management optimization to balance traffic between GSM and UMTS in order to meet the Accessibility, Retainability, Throughput, and KPI.
• Usage of RNO tools such as MRR,NOX,NCS,FAS and FOX
• Frequency tuning, Band swap and optimization.

• Analysis of the following network statistics: Congestion (Signaling and
Traffic) (GoS)-Daily, Dropped call rate-Daily, Interference, Making use of all Optimization techniques, parameter tuning, powering down, sectoring,
antenna tilt and azimuth changes to maintain and improve on the quality of the network.
• Proactive Air interface Monitoring; Performance Statistics interpretation &
• Modification of cell Operations by changing cell Parameters, testing of new
• Capacity Analysis, GPRSlEdge dimensioning and optimisation.
• Generation and preparation of radio access report for management on the state
of the network during special events, giving suggestions and reasons for performance degradation.
