RF System Test Engineer
Job Description: InIntel's Mobile Communications Group (MCG) seeks an experienced and a highly motivated RF expert with proven experience in mobile communications product manufacturing test. Responsibilities include working in a test development team to scope, develop, and support deployment of RF tests and tools supporting Intel smartphone and tablet products. Duties also include researching Intel RF roadmaps to determine next generation RF testing challenges, and work with silicon and HW design teams to ensure product manufacturability and testability. Detailed knowledge of RF transceiver technologies and the manufacturing test environment is critical to this role.
Responsibilities: Establish the phone and tablet test development RF roadmap. Validate and document RF test strategies for platform form-factor reference designs (FFRD) and product manufacturing test. Support test strategies deployed to board and system manufacturing. Assess industry equipment capability to ensure Intel developed test and tool compatibility with industry test equipment, and enable industry equipment capability for future technology. Help analyze factory test data to determine RF test capability and stability, as well as to assist diagnosis of manufacturing and test issues in the factory. Work closely with cross functional teams on complex system issues to determine creative and effective resolution. Some domestic and international travel required
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline and 6+ years of detailed RF experience in transceiver development, testing, and the integration of transceiver solutions in an end product (handset/tablet)
Knowledge of 3GPP standards in relation to RF parametric testing
Knowledge of digital and mixed-signal products
Ability to analyze board and system level schematics and board files
Knowledge of automated RF testing and calibration suitable for smartphone and tablet manufacturing test
Ability to root cause RF system performance issues
Expertise in use of communication testers such as CMU200, CMW500, Agilent 8960 and related RF test equipment
One year of implementation experience for LTE RF systems
Direct factory and customer support experience involving resolution of issues with designers, support engineers and customers
Experience in HW troubleshooting
Self motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to resolve ambiguity to create clear action plans
Ability to create clear documentation of test SW requirements, strategies, and SW tool/test implementation
Preferred Candidates will have experience in:
Working knowledge of 2G, 3G and 4G air interface
Development of test scripts for use with test equipment and experience interpreting and presenting results in an easy-to-follow manner/format
Experience with Intel Smarti (TM) transceiver is highly desirable
Experience programming in C/C++ on embedded products
